The original Occult laid the foundation for everything that came after and helped shape the look and feel that our pedals are known for today.
We knew we could build onto its legacy and every update scratched an itch. Our new four-seal layout including an inner O-ring, mid wiper seal, exterior interlocking seal, and end cap seal helps keep water out, reduce wear, and extend pedal life in the most demanding riding conditions. We added a chamfer to the platforms leading edge to help with deflection when coming into contact with unexpected rocks and roots. All of these things combined offer less contamination, less noise, a more planted feel, and better longevity.
The Occult V3 is more than a continuation of a legacy platform. It is the original Tenet pedal, refined with the durability, serviceability, and long-term reliability of our newest generation backed by our lifetime warranty, free refresh, and free bearing and bushings for life. What is the EFBE Tri-Test you say? All bicycles and their corresponding parts need to pass international safety standards in order to be sold in the United States and beyond. This ISO standard is considered the bare minimum for a product to be deemed "safe" for consumer usage, but it falls short when it comes to real world usage. This is why EFBE has created the "Tri-Test", to put products like ours through more strenuous fatigue, maximum load, and overload tests to better replicate the forces found during a products lifespan.
